Tommaso Lotti is an academic researcher from University of Florence, Italy. He got two PhD degrees, one in Italy in 2012 by defending a thesis on "Autotrophic nitrogen removal process: physiological and kinetic characterization for full-scale implementation" and the second in 2016 at the Delft University of Technology by defending a thesis on "Developing Anammox for mainstream municipal wastewater treatment". 

Since 2016 he is active member of the International Water Association (IWA), the Center for Colloid and Surface Science (CSGI) and since 2017 of the Italian Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations (FAST). He is author of more than 80 publications between scientific articles and conference proceedings. 

Previous affiliations of Tommaso Lotti include Polytechnic University of Milan (Politecnico di Milano), Italy & Delft University of Technology (TU-Delft), The Netherlands.

His current interests embrace the development of granular sludge processes such as AGS, mainstream and sidestream partial nitritation/anammox and the recovery and valorization of granular sludge EPS.
