Rikke Louise Meyer is Professor at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) at Aarhus University, Denmark. The overarching goal of her research is to achieve a fundamental understanding of the biological mechanisms involved in bacterial biofilm formation, and to use this knowledge to combat biofilms, either by preventing their formation or by developing more effective treatment strategies.

Rikke Meyer received her PhD in biology in 2003 from Aarhus University. After two years at the University of Queensland, Australia, she returned to Aarhus and established her research group at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center - iNANO. She has published more than 160 papers and received several personal awards and research grants, the latest being a Carlsberg Semper Ardens Accomplish grant. In 2024, she was elected member of the Danish Royal Academy of Sciences and Letters.
